About Us

Grev and Sharon are a married couple living at Langstone in Newport. Grev has been a keen photographer for almost 50 years, this year (2020) I turn the big '63', Sharon will tell you that on times I am still a big kid at heart, ok I admit it.

I retired from my previous employment after 33 years service in 2005 and for five years when the business was being built up in Newport in the early days I worked for a company located in Warwick training others in the use of laser technology but also in photography and video techniques. Yes I can use video, yes I can edit and produce stunning videos but this is a service we don’t offer, why? My first love is photography I have over 44 years of experience and I want to be a master of one not a jack of all trades. Shaz aka the boss and I have known each other for about 20 years, we have been married since 2005 and I always say I was a brilliant catch for her, she may tell you otherwise.

Sharon is essential in running this business, we are a team. I do the photography, marketing, comms, emails etc Shaz is more behind the scenes in the thankless task doing admin work, preparing accounts, paying bills, meeting clients to book their wedding or events, you name it she has to do it. Shaz has over 30 years experience in Admin, she has worked with both Gwent & South Wales Police in admin support, on leaving this role she became a catering manager at a local garden centre, progressing to assistant and the full time manager with Greggs the bakers moving on to her current role as a manager with The Red Cross Charity. She has wealth of experience in running big businesses being responsible for the smooth running of the shops where she is in charge.

What makes us photographers you can trust? Why should someone read this and trust the content in this book?

I have gained this knowledge by working with people for a long time? We have photographed over 1000 weddings and other assignments all over the UK and abroad and we will provide you with memories of your special day or event but it doesn’t stop there, they say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, yeah right, we continue to train regularly with some of the top photographers around, we don’t want to stay as we are I want to continue to improve, to learn more, why? So I can give my clients even more than we did last year, this year or next year.

Very often people say 'Look out here comes David Bailey', I wish I was him, I wish I had his bank balance but I don’t I am Grev PHILLIPS, am I good at what I do, you tell me. Am I a world renowned photographer - not yet but who knows (yeah right). What I do know is I love my job and I love working with people and as I said earlier without clients Grev PHILLIPS and Premiere Photography would cease to exist and we are sincerely grateful to everyone for the support we have and continue to receive.
